Yes! We’re actually (relatively) current with our latest podcasts, as Iain and Gavin share what they thought of “Barbenheimer”. Did we love Greta Gerwig’s Barbie? Did Chris Nolan’s Oppenheimer blow our minds?

On our latest podcast Iain and Gavin take a look at local Malaysian movie Pekak, directed by Mohd Khairul Azri Md Noor and starring Zahiril Adzim, Sharifah Amani, Sharifah Sakinah, Iedil Putra, Amerul Affendi, Zaidi Omar, Joe Flizzow and Chew Kin Wah.
A sort of  modern Romero and Juliet involving young love, drugs and a deaf courier, shot in and around KL ( including the back of Iain’s apartment) Pekak is now showing at Malaysian cinemas.

Art Exhibition: 2057

Taking a break from movies for a while and following on from curating the art exhibition “ARE WE LOST – A Search For Malaysian Pop Culture” last year, Gavin has once again gathered a diverse collection of local artists for a new art show; 2057 which runs all this week at Minut Init art Gallery in Damansara Utama,  Petaling Jaya.
The gallery is open daily, 1pm to 8pm  until the 27th August and Gavin will be there to guide visitors through the exhibit.
You can check out a preview of the artwork on display on Gavin’s  Instagram account and if you are thinking of popping by, Minut Init’s full address is 27, Jalan SS 21/37, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia and you can find a map to it’s location here.

Podcast Schedule and BFM Duck Rice Interview

Okaaaay then, we may have messed up our schedule over the Christmas period ( it’s a bit hard to coordinate recording a podcast when you’re separated by 8 timeozones)Â but now both Gavin and Iain are back ion the same timezone we should be getting back to our (somewhat) regular schedule, starting today with the recording of our Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoiler cast (if all goes to plan!)

The Incredibly Strange Tale Of The Man Who Lost His Love But Bought It Back With A Packet Of Duck Rice Update

For those of your patiently  awaiting Gavin’s Short Film “The Incredibly Strange Tale Of The Man Who Lost His Love But Bought It Back With A Packet Of Duck Rice”, it has been invited for competition at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival in Indonesia, which unfortunately means that its release on YouTube has now to be pushed back from it’s original release date of  13th November.
Gavin and Doghouse 73 Pictures will now release the short film after the festival, which runs from the 1st to 6th of December.
Once the festival is over Gavin’s will announce the new release date on the podcast and on his twitter account and on instagram account.
